Terms of service.
Last updated 15 August 2026 · AutoPortfolios is early software
The short version. We publish model portfolios and provide software that executes them in your own brokerage account. The account is yours, the orders are placed by software you are running, and you are responsible for them. We are not your adviser or your broker, and nothing here is a promise about returns.
1. This agreement
These terms govern your use of the AutoPortfolios website and services. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
AutoPortfolios is early software. Features, portfolios and pricing may change. Anyone may create an account and subscribe; we may decline or end a subscription where we cannot lawfully provide the service.
2. What the service is
AutoPortfolios has two parts.
The hub publishes model portfolios — lists of symbols, weights and dates. It holds no brokerage connection and cannot place an order.
Your instance is software that runs against your own brokerage account and places orders. It is controlled by settings you choose: which portfolios to follow, how much to allocate, the value above which an order waits for your approval, and whether execution is automatic at all.
We are not a broker, a custodian, an investment adviser or a fund. We do not hold your money or your securities. We do not provide personalised investment advice, and nothing published through the service is a recommendation to any particular person. See the disclosures.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction, be permitted to use the service there, and give accurate registration details. Accounts are personal: keep your password and tokens secret, and tell us promptly if you believe either has been exposed.
You are responsible for everything done through your account and by any instance holding your feed token. Tokens can be rotated at any time from your account page, which immediately invalidates the old one.
4. Your responsibility for orders
This section is the important one.
- Orders are placed by your instance, against your brokerage account, under settings you chose.
- The hub cannot place, modify or cancel an order. Its only power over your instance is to withdraw permission, never to grant it.
- You are responsible for reviewing your allocations and limits, for monitoring your account, and for every order placed in it — including orders placed automatically while you were not watching, which is what automation means.
- Your relationship with your broker is governed by your agreement with them, not this one. Their rules on margin, settlement, short selling, market access and account closure apply regardless of what the software attempts.
5. The managed plan
Under the managed plan we deploy and operate an instance for you on a server we provision, and maintain it. The brokerage account remains yours and in your name; we do not hold your money or securities, and we do not have authority over the account beyond running the software you have configured. You may stop the instance or end the plan at any time.
Operating an instance for you is an operational service, not discretionary management. The same limits apply: value ceilings, no automatic shorting, and approval where you require it.
6. Fees
Signal packs are charged monthly per portfolio, from the price stated on the site at the time you subscribe. The managed plan is charged as a share of profits at the stated percentage, calculated on realised and unrealised gains over a period, net of losses carried forward from previous periods, so that the same gain is not charged for twice.
Fees exclude taxes, brokerage commissions and any charges from your broker or a third-party research provider. We will tell you before a price you are already paying changes.
Payment is taken by Stripe on its own checkout pages; we never receive your card details. A subscription renews until you cancel it, which you may do at any time, and cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the current period. The managed plan's activation deposit is credited against your first profit share and refunded if unused.
7. Portfolios and third-party content
Some portfolios originate from third-party research providers and remain their intellectual property. Access may require a subscription and is subject to their terms, eligibility rules and licensing; availability can change and a portfolio can be withdrawn without notice.
You may use portfolio data for your own investing. You may not redistribute, resell, publish or otherwise make it available to anyone else, and you may not scrape or bulk-export it. Where a third party is named on this site, we are independent of them and are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
The software and this site are ours, or our licensors'. Vendored fonts are used under their own licence, which ships alongside them.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to gain access to accounts or data that are not yours; do not probe, scan or overload the service; do not use it to break the law or your broker's rules; do not share your credentials or resell access; and do not use it where doing so would require a registration or licence you do not hold.
9. Availability and changes
The service is provided on an "as available" basis. It depends on parts we do not control — brokers, research providers, hosting, and the networks between them — and it can be unavailable, delayed or degraded. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we will give reasonable notice of a material change where we can.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to account holders, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
10. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any portfolio will be profitable, that any published figure is accurate — we do not verify them — or that any order will be executed at any particular price or at all.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, for suspected fraud or abuse, or where required by law or by a research provider.
On termination, your instance stops receiving signals. It does not liquidate your holdings, and neither do we — positions in your brokerage account remain yours to manage. Sections 4, 7, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. General
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this agreement; we may assign it to a successor to our business. These terms, together with the privacy policy, the disclosures and the risk warning, are the entire agreement between us about the service.
